Lina Choo Matte Lipstick Collection

Sample – affil links

Lina Choo velvet matte lipsticks have arrived at Beautylish and you can purchase them HERE. They each retail for $32 which is quite a bit for a brand we haven’t heard much here in the US but let me tell ya, they’re quite amazing.

So where did this brand come from? We snooped around Beautylish to find its roots:

Charlie Choo is one of the world’s biggest beauty influencers, but you may have never heard of him. In his native China, he’s a renowned makeup artist who has collaborated with beauty brands like Estée Lauder, Giorgio Armani and Dior. He’s been featured in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and he’s a familiar face on many popular Chinese TV shows. Now his newest project, LINA CHOO—a Chinese-born, global-minded beauty brand—is about to make him a household name among beauty lovers in the Western world.

The lipsticks come with an embossing on the tube and the packaging is black enamel with magnetized closure, they’re quite heavy and remind me of the special edition Mac lipstick squared bullets.

So far only 6 shades are available in an arrange of pinks, reds and nude and each tube has 4.5g content.

Los swatches!

The verdict after a day of testing: so far I loved all the colors, I didn’t have good lighting to lip swatch accordingly but I got to at least do this one, as well as trying them on the lips. This lipstick feels like a balm on the lips, it’s moisturizing and you forget you’re wearing it. Don’t use a primer or base because you risk a slippery wear, since they are very emollient. The finish is called “velvet matte” which you can achieve by using a light swipe, if you layer them, you’d get more of a satin matte finish.

Van Gogh was the only one that gave me some staining – def remove that one with an oil based makeup remover.

These have Beeswax in them – therefore are not vegan, just an FYI.

Overall, I liked and I’m looking forward to this brand releasing further shades and other items, I think at $32 you’re still paying for packaging but you’ll forget about it with the luxurious feel these have and the moisturizing properties they bring to the table.

Will you try!?
