IPSY is a $10 a month beauty subscription service. And if you sign up here you can skip the waiting list! Here’s what I got this month…
First the bag is absolutely adorable. My favorite in the 3+ years that I’ve been getting IPSY.
It was designed by Valfre, an LA based illustrator and fashion designer, especially for Halloween. I love the cute ghost detailing on the zipper.
Pure Brazilian Leave-in Conditioner ($6)- this is a keratin infused leave in conditioner. It smells delicious and it left my hair feeling soft and healthy.
NOYAH LIPSTICK SAMPLE in ‘SMOKE’ ($5.60)- this is looks like it’s a pretty rosey nude color but when I swatched it (see below), I realized that it’s actually that greige color that makes me look like a corpse. If you can pull this color off, more power to ya! But unfortunately, I can not.
They also included this coupon…
THE BALM ‘CABANA BOY’ BLUSH and SHADOW SAMPLE ($1.70)- I like this color but the sample is too tiny for me to use a blush. I’m going to say that I’ll use it as a shadow but most likely I’ll just lose it.
LOTTIE LONDON SHADER BRUSH ($15)- I’m always happy to get brushes in my IPSY bag. This is a flat shader brush that now lives in my ‘swatch brushes’ cup. I’m sure I’ll get tons of use out of it as I do approximately 1 million swatches a week.
CIATE LONDON FIERCE FLICKS LIQUID EYELINER ($20)- this is a full sized felt tip liquid liner. The point is fairly fine and the liner is matte and doesn’t bleed. So far I’m enjoying it but the test for me will be how long it lasts. Liquid liners have the tendency to dry up pretty quickly on me.
Swatches of the blush, liner and lippie
IPSY is $10 a month and this month’s value was around $48. Not a bad return! I’ll use the brush, liner and hair stuff and possibly the blush. The only thing that I definitely won’t use is the lippie. 4 out of 5 isn’t too shabby! My favorite thing about IPSY is that they send out a variety of different products every month unlike most beauty boxes where everyone gets the same thing. Lately I’ve been getting pretty lucky so here’s hoping that my winning streak continues! Later this month I’ll be reviewing POPSUGAR, ALLURE and SEPHORA PLAY.
