Huda Beauty ‘Mercury Retrograde‘ Palette Dupes

Tada!! At long last I’ve sniffed out sufficient dupes for this damn palette! For the most part, they aren’t exact but they’re pretty friggin close. This was a hard one! Mercury Retrograde is a gorgeous palette with a lot of unique colors and formulas. The only reason that I’d hesitate to recommend it is because it’s expensive af. And I’m also a big proponent of ‘shopping your stash’. If you’ve got a lot of makeup then you probably already own similar colors. Or you might only be interested in a few particular shades and would rather buy 1 or 2 single shadows instead of dropping $70 on a palette.

▪️Cosmic vs Clionadh Cosmetics Utopia (C$8 or approx $6 usd -15% w/ non-affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Cosmic is a pale, almost silvery, metallic pink. Utopia is cooler

▪️Utopia vs ColourPop Lay Low ($4.50, -10% w/ affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Utopia and Lay Low are matte corals. Utopia is a little more pink and Lay Low is a little more orange

▪️Ultraviolet vs Clionadh Stencil (C$16 or approx $12 usd)- Ultraviolet is violet with pink sparkle. It’s one of my least favorite shades in the palette because mine developed a weird filmy layer that makes it a pain in the ass to apply. Stencil is more vibrant and has more intense pigmentation. It’s also duochrome so while Ultraviolet is a cool toned purple, Stencil’s base color shifts red and blue. They’re not exact dupes but Stencil is much prettier, imo

▪️Nebula vs Bodyography Comet ($23)- when I’m looking for dupes I try my best to find affordable options but I made an exception for Nebula because it’s a really unique color with an unusual formula. Comet and Nebula both have sparkly purple and silver particles that combine to create a purplish gunmetal gray. They’re almost perfect dupes.

The closest formula dupe that I’ve come across is the shade REM from Nabla’s Dreamy 2 palette. The colors aren’t the same but the formula are. The ingredient lists are almost identical. Both palettes were made in Italy so I theorize that Huda and Nabla use the same lab. Just a theory tho.

▪️️Mercury vs ColourPop Antimatter ($4.50, -10% w/ affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Mercury is sparkly teal with a dark purple base. To my eye, Antimatter is an exact dupe

▪️Haze vs Lethal Cosmetics Yonder ($6)- Haze is a matte aqua. Yonder is darker

▪️Off Balance vs Clionadh Cosmetics Wildberry (C$6 or approx $4.50 usd, -10% w/ non-affil code: BEAUTYCULT)- Off Balance and Wildberry are rose colored mattes. Wildberry is darker

▪️Galaxy vs ColourPop Snake Eyes ($4.50, -10% w/ affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Galaxy is a pink champagne color with an ultra metallic finish. Snake Eyes is cooler

▪️Momentum vs ColourPop Hear Me Out ($4.50, -10% w/ affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Momentum is a very pale matte pinky peach. ColourPop Outta Luck is an almost perfect dupe but it was discontinued. Hear Me Out is lighter. ColourPop Issues, Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie and ABH Orange Soda are all darker and more orange

▪️Supermoon vs Adept Cosmetics S6 ($3.50, -15% w/ affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Supermoon is a sparkly white with a subtle pink and blue shift. S6 is a sparkly white with a subtle blue shift but it’s not as glittery

If you like this type of shade then I’d also recommend Clionadh Glimmer or Glare. They’ve got more dramatic duochrome shifts and I think that they’re prettier than Supermoon

▪️Vortex vs Inglot 308 ($8)- Vortex is blackened purple matte. 308 is a little more brown

▪️Gold Glitch vs Clionadh Honeycomb (C$8 or approx $6 usd, -15% w/ non-affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Gold Glitch has a peachy gold base with yellow gold and purple sparkle. Honeycomb has the same base color with yellow gold glitter. The only thing that it’s missing is the hint of purple

▪️Frazzled vs ColourPop DGAF ($6, -10% w/ affil code BEAUTYCULT)- Frazzled is a pinky copper with green shimmer. DGAF might be a teeny bit more pink but otherwise it’s a perfect dupe

And that’s it! We made it to the end! I just bought the Amrezy palette so I’ll probably work on dupes for that next
