L’oreal recently launched the newest addition to their infallible foundation line, Fresh Wear 24HR. It promises to be their most lightweight and breathable long wear. I’ve been wearing this foundation every day for 2 weeks and I think that I’m finally ready to give you my thoughts! My skin is normal but it leans more towards dry than oily. I’ve been wearing the shade 450 (Rose Beige) which is for light medium skin, neutral with yellow and peach undertones. You can find shade descriptions as well as a shade finder on L’oreal’s website.
The foundation retails for $14.99 (but you can get it cheaper from Amazon). It contains the standard 1 fluid ounce of product and comes in a glass jar with a good pump. Good meaning that you can control the amount of product that you’re dispensing. The Infallible Pro Matte, Pro Glow and Total Cover all come in plastic squeezey tubes so the glass bottle is a nice upgrade. It’s available in 30 shades, which is better than most brands but they could use more deep shades in my opinion. L’oreal True Match Lumi is my favorite drugstore foundation, hands down, so I was excited to try the Fresh Wear 24HR!
The formula is quite thin and liquidy which immediately reminded of the Fenty foundation. Just for shits and giggles, I looked up the ingredients of both. They’ve got a number of the same primary ingredients but they’re not the same.
I accidentally watched part of a review on YouTube (I try not to look at other reviews until mine is finished because I’m easily influenced by the opinions of my friends or people that I respect) and the woman mentioned the Fresh Wear having a very strong scent . I hadn’t even noticed it but she’s right. The foundation has a definite fragrance. I think that it smells good but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to fragrance.
As I was saying, the formula is quite fluid. Because the formula is so thin, it feels very lightweight and breathable on the skin. It sets quickly and it’s very long wearing. Here’s my favorite part… it’s transfer proof! I’ve got a ton of hair. It’s fairly thick and so long that it veers into ‘mormon sister wife’ territory if I skip a hair cut. 90% of the time I keep it arranged into a big rats nest on the top of head with scarf to keep it off of my face. This is the first foundation that I’ve EVER tried that doesn’t get all over my scarves. Total game changer for me.
It’s supposed to be medium to full coverage with a natural finish. I’d consider it be medium coverage with a velvety matte finish. It’s also one of the most long wearing foundations that I’ve ever tried. I’ve worn it for up to 12 hours and it was still going strong. It broke up a bit around my nose but I’m very sniffly so that’s to be expected. Although my skin is mostly normal, it can get dry during the winter. Even though the Fresh Wear formula is mattifying, it doesn’t emphasize any dry patches that I might have. Because of the matte finish I prefer using a beauty blender with this foundation. With a brush I felt like the finish was a teeny bit streaky.
Final thoughts- I love this foundation. It covers my skin imperfections without settling into fine lines and it feels weightless. It lasts all day and most importantly, it doesn’t ruin my head scarves! The finish is more matte than I typically prefer but I counteract that by using a luminous primer and a damp beauty blender instead of a brush. I think that I’ll love it even more this summer when my skin is more oily. I think the formula is every bit as good as (or better than) the majority of my high end foundations, for less than a third of the price.
If you’re sensitive to fragrance than I’d probably pass on this one. Also if you have a deeper complexion, you might not find an exact match. Other than that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend L’oreal Infallible Fresh Wear!
You just sold me to this foundation!! Sucks that there are not a lot of stores that have it yet around me so I gotta wait. Hope they have a single shade for me. I think im at 455 or 460 but I never know until I try it out

Oh nice! Look at that shade range! I might have to try this one eventually. I like coverage, but nothing too full, heavy or mattifying since I have quite dry skin.

Omg I’m now 100% sold on this foundation, as I think I’ll like it even more bc I have slightly oily skin. I used to be like “foundation is something you should never buy drugstore. Like eyeshadow. It’s just crappy and you need to spend money on it.” But you are making me want to pick this up ASAP!

I’ve used their lumi foundation forever. The ingredients are about 90% similar to Armani luminous silk, which makes sense since they own Armani. But it costs $13 vs $65

I’m an idiot. You’re darker than me. What colors do you want? I’ll send them to you.

Whaaaaaat?!!!! That’s amazing! You’re way too sweet to me girl. Looking over the swatches again I think either 425 or 430 would be perfect. I guess I’m lighter than you! I used to be pretty tan in the summer but I’ve gotten a LOT lighter from being a vampire like I am lately. I went from wearing a 230 in Lancôme Teint Idole to 250 (which is actually a shade lighter, strangely). But both are light-medium warm undertones.

This line is discombobulated too. 450 is def lighter then some of the numbers below it. I’ll dm ya on ig for your addy and them over!
