I’ve been using the Dr. Jart treatment for awhile now (I’m on my third jar) and it’s the best color corrector that I’ve ever tried. It evens out my complexion so well that I can skip foundation, if I’m going for a ‘my skin but better’ type of look. And it has spf 30! I was cashing in my Ulta points the other day so I decided to get the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Moisturizer just to see if it was any good… nope! It doesn’t hold a candle to Dr Jart and it’s getting returned. I also tried the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Corrector but it was basically foundation and not really what I was looking for.
To illustrate my point, I tested both products on my angry red arm after doing swatches all day. The Bye Bye Redness is basically a moisturizer with a slight green tinge. It didn’t do anything to counteract the redness. The Cicapair is a thick green cream that initially gives a bit of a white cast (which is why I’d probably only use a little bit if you’re complexion is darker than medium) but as it absorbs into your skin the white cast goes away along with the redness. You’ll want to use less than you think you’ll need, that little dab in the above photo was enough to cover my entire forearm.
I try to feature products that are all inclusive but I figured that there isn’t a skincare product in the world that will work for everyone. I wish that they would expand the line with better options for fair, olive and brown skin. But if you have a skin tone similar to mine (NC30) with redness, rosacea or acne scarring then you need to try this stuff!
