Sumbody Natural Skincare: Introduction, Review and Discount Code

Sample. Affiliate discount code.

This month I had the honor of trying some skincare and bath and body products from a new-to-me line called, Sumbody. Before I start gushing about how much I loved everything (because spoiler alert: I’m super impressed), allow me to share this introduction that I’ve borrowed from their website…

‘Deborah Burnes, CEO and Co-Founder of Sumbody, started modeling for world-famous artist, Salvador Dali at a very young age. She moved from New York to Los Angeles to continue her career, and during her time in front of the camera, went to cosmetology school to understand what everyone was doing with her hair and makeup. In the process of her studies, fell head-over-heels in love…with skin! Deborah realized the need to bring a truly natural product line to the market that would be accessible to everyone.’

SUMBODY’S 360° PERSPECTIVE

‘Our 360° Perspective sets us apart. We understand that effective, quality products that are truly natural are the sum of the contributions of many — it takes the expertise of a farmer, the science of a chemist, the experience of a successful skin care expert, the wisdom of a mother, and the insight of a celebrity. No one piece of the natural skincare puzzle is most important – you need them all. Others tout that they have one or two of these parts – only Sumbody has the whole sum.’

Their products are very reasonably priced to begin with but on top of that, they’ve agreed to set up a very generous discount code for our readers. The code is BEAUTYCULT and it will save you 15%. There’s also two more perks… Free US shipping on $50+ orders AND if you spend $75+ you’ll also get a free gift with purchase. The current offering is valued at $33! So that’s 15% off, free shipping and a free gift worth $33! My inner bargain hunter rejoices!

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times but here it goes again… I’m not an esthetician. I do my best to do rudimentary research before reviewing a product but I have no first hand knowledge of skincare beyond what works for me. But as a woman on the wrong side of 30 who spent half of her life sun worshipping, I’ve tried a lot of products. Personally I’m not all that concerned about ‘natural’ products mostly because in many cases it’s just an unregulated, marketing term. However I will say that the ingredient decks of these Sumbody products look very clean. I can pronounce most, if not all, of the words.

Okay so now that we finally got the introduction out of the way, let’s talk about the products that I received! I LOVE all four but if you only buy one thing, it should definitely be their Salt Scrub! It comes in two sizes: 12oz ($17 w/ code BEAUTYCULT) and 20oz ($29 w/ the code).

It has a very fine texture that gently removes dead skin without being the least bit harsh and it rinses clean, leaving your skin baby soft without a trace of any oily residue. One of my pet peeves is when I shave my legs after exfoliating and my razor gets all clogged up with gunk. Everything about this scrub reminds me of the Indie Lee Coconut Citrus Body Scrub. They have the same texture and scent and they perform the same. The only difference is that the one from Indie Lee is more than triple the price ($38 for 8oz).

I tried my best to show the product’s texture in this photo. It’s almost fluffy.

Next up is their Tinted Lip Balm which retails for $9 ($7.65 with the code). I got the flavor, Cinnamon Orange and it smells so good that I’m very tempted to eat it. It has a very subtle tint so you can apply without a mirror and you won’t end up looking like a clown. The formula is moisturizing and creamy and made with nourishing oils and shea butter. My lips are always dry from testing liquid lipsticks and this lip balm has been making a noticeable difference!

Sumbody Norm/Dry Facial Oil ($45/ $38.25 w code BEAUTYCULT)

I’ve always preferred oils over creams for hydrating my face so I was really excited to try this product. For cases of severe dehydration, they recommend using an oil first and then sealing it with a cream which is actually what I’ve been doing for most of this wretched winter. This particular oil reminds me of the Fresh Seaberry Face Oil.

I haven’t actually compared the ingredients but the oils have a similar weight and feel.

Milkyrich Natural Soap ($6- $12)

I can’t remember the last time that I used a bar of soap and omg! You guys! I’m obsessed. I hate myself for even saying ‘obsessed’ by it’s true. I find myself reaching into the shower every time that I’m in the bathroom and pulling out this soap to smell. I don’t know to describe the scent. It’s strangely familiar to me but I can’t put my finger on what it reminds me of. When you get it wet, it works into this creamy, rich lather that leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and lightly scented. I’m 100% in love with it. I want to buy a brick sized bar so that I never run out.

I highly recommend all four products but you NEED to try the scrub and the soap. Your skin will thank you for it! I can’t wait to try more from Sumbody and we thank you in advance if you choose to use our affiliate code BEAUTYCULT to save 15%!

      • Yeah idk. They didn’t alert me to any changes. I just deleted it to be safe. It wasn’t an affiliate code, it was just for their customers to save a little money so it would’ve been nice if they made us aware of any changes. I apologize for your inconvenience!
