LIME CRIME PLUSHIES: REVIEW and SWATCHES

Sample.

Lime Crime Plushies ($20)

I got a bunch of products from Lime Crime to swatch/review for you guys! I figured that I’d start with the Plushies since that was their most recent release. And you don’t even need to ask… I know that you’ll want to know how these compare to the CP blotted lippies. I don’t have any of the CP ones so this week, I’m going to send them to Em for her expert analysis! These retail for $20. There was a card in my box with a promo code for $10 off of $50. I’m pretty sure the code was PLUSHIES but I can’t find the damn card anymore to double check. Also wanted to mention that Lime Crime products are sold at Ulta, Revolve, Bloomingdale’s, Urban Outfitters and for my overseas girls and boys Cult Beauty.

The Plushies have a non-opaque, soft focus formula enhances natural lip color. One coat will give you the ‘my-lips-but-better’ effect, or you can layer them for more intensity. They have a berry scent and the formula is so light that you’ll forget that you’re wearing anything. They’re long wearing, they fade evenly and once they dry down, they’re smudge proof. I love how they let just a hint of your natural lip color peek through but unfortunately that doesn’t translate well for arm swatches. On my fair skin, ‘sheer’ looks ‘patchy’. But I swear to you that they look beautiful on the lips!

Smokey is a sheer gray.

Grape Jelly is a sheer grape.

Gumdrop is bright pink.

Cola is a sheer red brown.

Blackberry is a sheer berry.

Jam is a deep red.

Lavender Honey is a sheer pinky lavender.

Rosebud is a peachy pink.

Turkish Delight is a sheer rose.

Milk Tea is a sheer mauve.

Butterscotch is a golden brown.

Marmalade is a sheer orange.

I like the majority of these colors but my favs are Milk Tea, Rosebud, Turkish Delight and Lavender Honey. You know, all the boring pinky nude colors. I def prefer a natural, comfortable formula like this over mattes so I’m loving these babies! As I mentioned, I had a hard time swatching them because they’re sheer but that hint of your natural lip color peeking through looks so pretty! The dark colors looked the most patchy on my arm but I’d imagine the opposite would be true for deeper skin tones.

In the next few weeks I’ll also be reviewing their Diamond Dew liquid eyeshadows, Diamond Crusher lip toppers and some of their eyeshadow and highlighter palettes and I’ll send the Plushies to Em so that she can compare to the ColourPop blotted lippies. And don’t forget that Ulta now carries Lime Crime!

  1. I also love Turkish Delight, Milk Tea, Lavender Honey and Rosebud. I, too, love my natural, boring lip colors. These look really nice. I’ve never tried anything from Lime Crime and if these are as good as CP’s blotted lippies, which I also haven’t tried yet, but plan on doing so ASAP, then I’m going with ColourPop for sure 💋
