These are the products that I got from the new Too Faced Peaches and Cream collection! I already reviewed the Just Peachy palette so this post will focus on the highlighter, bronzer and lippie.
I’m not usually a big packaging junkie. I’d always prefer to buy a bomb product in basic ass packaging than the other way around. But damn! The design of this collection really sold me. I love both of these compacts and the pie bronzer is genius.
Unfortunately cuteness only gets you so far… Sweetie Pie is a mixture of a lighter and darker tan and a peachy blush. It’s described as a ‘radiant matte’ bronzer… whaaaa?? Isn’t that an oxymoron? I’d call it a satin finish bronzer, which I find to be more flattering than matte anyway.
The color is pretty and I like it but it’s def not universal. When I used it today, I went in 3 or 4 times to get my perfect shade. It did build nicely but I’m pale af. For skin tones darker than maybe NC37, you’d probably have to layer it about 7x. Nobody feels like doing that. And tan and deep complexions? Don’t even bother. I really wish that they had done a light and dark option. But it works for me so I’ll probably keep it.
And the Peach Frost highlighter… I swear it’s swatched on my arm.
This feels like the makeup version of the emperors new clothes. It’s pretty much the exact same color as my skin with very very subtle shimmer. The swatch is two layers. I tried to do three so that it didn’t look like I was posting a pic of my bare arm but then it got cakey. If you’re fair and you like a very natural highlighter then go for it. Otherwise I’d pass.
So the highlighter was a bust and although I do like the bronzer, I’m disappointed that not everyone will be able to use it because it’s so light.
And last but not least the Peach Kiss lipstick! First the color is Got Peach? It was described online as a terracotta peach. It’s a little more red than I expected. I was envisioning more of rust type shade but I still like it.
It has a strong peach and fig scent. I liked scented stuff but if you’re not into fragrance, I’d pass.
The shape of the tip makes it easy to outline your lips and the color pay off is opaque. However it’s more of a satin finish not really a matte. That’s not a problem for me as I’m not a huge fan of matte lips but it’s called a ‘matte long wear’ lipstick. Also it’s not transfer proof. I’ve got lipstick all over my water bottle from testing this baby today. On the plus side the formula is quite comfortable and moisturizing. As far as wear time… I’m a horrible judge of that. I’m constantly talking, drinking and eating. And I’m not good at being careful not to disturb my lipstick. I eat like a rabid dog. But it wore pretty well and faded evenly. I’d say you could get a solid 4 hours of wear time, maybe 6 if you’re careful.
I’m not sure how much the formula varies from shade to shade since I only got one color. I’ve heard some shades are drying and patchy. I like the color I chose and formula and the (gimmicky) packaging but overall I think it’s a normal satin lipstick. I like it but I wouldn’t buy another one online as this color wasn’t quite what I was expecting.
So to recap… I like the palette and lippie and the bronzer is nice for fair skin. The only total dud for me was the highlighter. Overall I think they did a good job on the collection but I don’t have a desire to buy anything else from it.
I don’t even give too faced launches a second look anymore. They’re an easy pass for me at this point. Just too gimmicky and childish. I liked the original peach palette last year but the ensuing onslaught of subpar peachy shit has just left me cold.
