IPSY is a $10, monthly beauty subscription service that includes 5 samples and a makeup bag. I like that they include a bunch of different products every month so that there’s some variety as opposed to everyone getting the same thing. But IPSY is usually pretty hit or miss for me and this month was a miss. Whomp whomp. Here’s what I got…
The bag is clear plastic with little ice cream designs. Pretty cute! I might actually use this one.
PACIFICA ISLAND LIFE PALETTE ($12)- I think this palette was made exclusively for Ipsy because I couldn’t find it for sale anywhere so I’m guessing on the price. It’s pretty but I’ve got a zillion eyeshadows and I don’t see myself ever using it. To the donation box!
FEARLESS HAIR RESCUE MASQUE ($10)- eh. I’m super picky about hair stuff. It’s pretty much pureology or the highway. But I’ll use it eventually.
ROYAL & LANGNICKEL PRECISION ANGLED ($7.99)- I can never complain about getting a brush. This one is ideal for cream contouring which I don’t do much but that’s okay. I actually really like ROYAL & LANGNICKEL brushes. I think they’re really good quality especially for the price.
URBAN DECAY AFTERGLOW HIGHLIGHTER IN SIN ($8.50)- I like this highlighter a lot. It’s a pretty champagne color and it’s UD so you know it’s good. No complaints on this one!
STARLOOKS PRO ARTIST EDITION ($19)- sigh. This is a double sided liquid eyeliner. One side is a normal pen and the other is…. a star stamp!!! What in the actual fuck am I going to do with a star stamp? Impersonate Kat Von D? Seriously? Is that a thing now? Do people stamp hearts, stars and moons on their faces? I don’t get it. The eyeliner side is fine but on the rare occasions that I wear liquid eyeliner anymore, I prefer a brush tip. Oh well. Em got a real kick out of me getting this so there’s that.
IPSY is $10 a month and my bag this month was valued at around $58. I’ll definitely use the UD highlighter. I might use the bag and the brush and I’ll probably use the conditioner. The eyeshadow palette I won’t use but I’ve got a few young girls that give this type of stuff and I’m sure one of them will enjoy it. The eyeliner is a no go and since I had to stamp it on my hand for demonstration purposes, I can’t give it away as it’s no longer sterile. Oh well! Not the best bag ever but not the worst either. Next up… SEPHORA PLAY!
I got the hair conditioner and I love it! It really helped make my hair soft and just the tiniest bit more volumized when it dried.
