Juvia’s Place is at it again! Dropping not one but two blush palettes and two new brush sets. The blush palettes are $18 each or $16 if you use our affiliate code BEAUTYCULT to save 10%. I reviewed the brush sets yesterday and Em will be giving her take on all four items as well. I think they were really smart to do two separate palettes in this instance. That’s always people’s first complaint about universal blush, contour or highlight palettes, they won’t be able to use half the shades. But on the other hand I think that all skin tones could make use of both of these palettes.
Both palettes have 27g of product, each pan is 4.5g. All of Juvia’s products are cruelty free and both palettes are also free from parabens and mineral oil. I’m not positive if they’re vegan. There’s nothing in the ingredient list that screams animal product, like carmine but I may have over looked something. The formula and pigmentation are what we’ve grown to expect from the brand. I think they’re phenomenal for any price range and they perform better than a lot of my high end products. The fact that they’re $16 makes them impossible not to own. In my opinion at least!
The first edition was designed for medium to deep skin tones but all complexions can use it as an eyeshadow palette. I know I’m going to! Vol 1 has 4 silky mattes and 2 foiled shimmers. I know that based on my swatches, some of these will be hard to picture as blushes but keep in mind that I’m pretty darn fair. And the swatches are done with a shader brush not a blush brush.
ZARA is an ultra metallic amber bronze. The texture is rich and creamy and the pigmentation is insane.
NEO is a silky, deep brick red matte. Next time that I wear makeup, assuming that I ever wear makeup again, NEO is going all up in the crease of my eye
LILA is a satin finish, rosy copper
ZANE is a bright pinky magenta. Use caution with this one, the pigmentation is nuts!
TOBY is a light sunny orange with yellow undertones. And my new favorite transition color.
ABY is a deep eggplant with a creamy matte finish.
One thing I did notice was that ZARA and LILA are quite similar.
ZARA is more golden and shimmery. If you look really closely, you can see tiny specks of gold sparkle.
LILA is more rosy and copper and the finish is closer to a satin.
Volume 2 is meant for light to medium skin tones but again will be beautiful as an eyeshadow palette for all complexions. This palette has four mattes and two duochrome shimmers and I’m in love with every single one. The apply flawless and wear beautifully on the face.
YARA is light medium brown with strong orange undertones. It could work as a blush, bronzer and eyeshadow.
SOLA is a bright rose with gold shimmer. It has a dense, creamy texture and would be gorgeous on the eyes as well.
TAU is a bright red orange matte.
BEE is a medium pink berry with a matte finish and another dream crease color for me.
ZOBA is a pale peachy pink with a gold duochrome shift. It will be a great blush on fair skin and a beautiful highlighter on medium skin.
LEENA is light watermelon pink with a matte finish.
I’m 100% in love with this palette. I can see myself using about half the shades as blushes but without a doubt all 6 will be on my eyes. Both blush palettes put together would be my dream eyeshadow palette. The colors are gorgeous, the formula is amazing and the price makes them impossible to pass up! JUVIA’S PLACE continues to impress me more and more with each new release. I highly recommend both of these palettes and I’ll be using them constantly while we wait for the release of the MAGIC PALETTE in two weeks!
