NOVEMBER 2016 SEPHORA PLAY REVIEW

SEPHORA PLAY is a $10 a month beauty subscription service that exclusively features brands that are sold at SEPHORA. Every month you get a draw string bag, 5 samples and a perfume sample. There’s usually 2-4 different product variations.

It also includes a fold out leaflet detailing the products.

And a card that’s redeemable in store for 50 beauty insider points. This month’s theme is ‘Best In Glow’.

And the products!

SEPHORA COLLECTION ULTRA SHINE LIP GEL IN PIN-UP PINK ($10.90)- This is a plumping lip gloss and it’s nearly full size (.1 oz vs .11 oz). However, I didn’t even remove the seal from this because I know that I’ll never use it. Bright pink isn’t my color. I’ll either pawn this off on a friend or add it to my growing giveaway stash.

CAUDALIE VINOSOURCE MOISTURIZING SORBET  ($9.75)- this I like! It’s a light weight moisturizer with a subtle citrusy scent. I usually like a heavier moisturizer during the winter but this one works well for me.

GLAMGLOW GRAVITYMUD FIRMING TREATMENT  ($22)- this is a silvery peel off mask that’s supposed to firm and tone the skin. Meh. I think GLAMGLOW is kinda overrated. They’ve got a few products that I like but in general I think it’s overpriced. This mask is cool color and I think peel off masks are fun but I definitely didn’t notice any kind of difference in my skin’s appearance after using it. There are very few GLAMGLOW products that I’d actually buy but I’m always happy to try samples!

COVER FX ILLUMINATING PRIMER ($6.08)- I like this too. It’s a silicone free, illuminating primer. The illumination is subtle but it acts as a nice base for my foundation. I’m enjoying the sample but it won’t be replacing BECCA as my favorite illuminating primer.

LAURA MERCIER ROSEGOLD CAVIAR STICK EYE COLOUR ($17.50)- It’s a cream shadow stick in a rosey champagne color. It’s a good size (.03oz vs the .05oz full size) and a really pretty color. It’s also applies smoothly and blends easily.

And the perfume sample… MAISON MARGIELA REPLICA. It’s a unisex fragrance that’s supposed to smell like burning wood and chestnut. It smells good but I’m not sure how I feel about it. I think it would be a great scent for a candle but it’s kinda weird for a perfume.
SEPHORA PLAY is $10 a month and this month’s value is over $66! I think this is the highest valued SEPHORA PLAY that I’ve gotten so far. And I’m pretty happy with this month’s selection. The only thing that I won’t use is the bright pink lip gloss. I’m enjoying the primer, moisturizer and eye stick and I was happy to try a new GLAMGLOW product. All and all a good month for me.
