Ladies and gentlemen…the moment we’ve all been waiting for… THE MASQUERADE PALETTE!!! Isn’t she gorgeous?! Let’s get the stats out of the way and then we’ll talk colors. It’s a 16 pan palette of similar design to the previous two. These are large pans, the same size as the NUBIAN 2 and her single shadows (3.5g/ .12oz, I think). So you’re getting a lot of product for a great price. Her single shadows are $5 each, $5 × 16= $90 of eyeshadows for only $32! The eyeshadows are formulated without parabens or mineral oil and of course, they’re cruelty free. JUVIA’S PLACE is an independently, female owned business.
The palette contains 5 mattes (ZOBO, BURKINA, ADA, ZULU, FULANI), 2 mattes with microglitter (BORI, CAIRO) and 9 metallics (CHI, MALI, DALIA, ZOLA, MAKEDA, CALABAR, GIZA, DAHIA and CASABLANCA). These are all new shades with the exception of CASABLANCA which is also sold individually. And I think DAHIA is pretty similar to LA LA (also sold individually) but the rest are completely unique to this palette.
The bottom 2 rows are neutral with an emphasis on warm oranges and reds. The biggest stand outs for me are CAIRO and ADA. Normally I don’t like mattes with glitter but in the case of CAIRO the glitter actually adheres to skin, which is rare in this type of formula. I’m not even sure how to describe ADA. It’s a cross between terracotta and a tomato red. I don’t know if I own another color just like it.
The top 2 rows are filled with vibrant jewel tones. I love all these colors but if I had to pick favorites they would be MALI (grass green), ZOBO (matte raspberry), CALABAR (rich deep cranberry) and BORI (bright matte strawberry with gold glitter, reminds me of a discontinued MUG shadow called RAZZLEBERRY). I’m absolutely in love with this palette and it’s a total steal at $32!
