JUVIA’S PLACE ‘THE NUBIAN 2’ ($28.99) vs KVD ‘SERPENTINA’ ($45)

My JUVIA’S PLACE swatches are a few months old and were taken with a different phone. Also it was almost dark out when I did the KVD swatches tonight so the lighting was less than ideal. This is just meant to give you a general idea of how they compare but because of those variables it’s not 100% accurate.

So the overall color palettes are very similar but there’s few actual dupes. BLOODMILK is matte brick red. If you mixed MOROCCO and JEZEBEL you’d get a similar shade. MEDUSA and SHEBA are both metallic bronzes. SHEBA is warmer with more red undertones. MEDUSA is more of an antique bronze with a greenish cast. HIEROGLYPH is  a coppery gold. It’s in between YAA and NEFERTITI. NILE and CLEOPATRA are close enough to be considered dupes. EGYPT is a metallic green with yellow undertones. I’d place it between SCARAB and PROPHET. NUBIAN 2 has JEZEBEL (matte burgundy) and LEYLA (metallic plum). SERPENTINA has the reverse, VENOM (matte purple) and QUEEN (metallic burgundy). ANKH and PROPHET are SERPENTINA’S 2 unique colors (in comparison to NUBIAN). NUBIAN has a number of unique colors, including MADAGASCAR, MOROCCO, KENYA, ZURI and NAIROBI.
Another issue I have with SERPENTINA is it’s lack of transition or highlight shades. I wouldn’t be able to do a complete look using only that palette.
